This is our most popular horseback tour Ollantaytambo, and with good reason !

The route is fairly easy and thus ideal for beginners and experts alike. This horseback riding trip leaves Ollantaytambo from the Incan village of Cacchicata and climbs up to “Las Canterras”  (The Quarries, in Spanish)  otherwise known as the Inca Workshop, where the Incas mined and carved the stones needed to build the massive Ollantaytambo fortress.  There is currently no charge to enter The Quarries, and there are very few other people typically at the site.

Trip cost is $89 per person with guide and box lunch included, minimum 2 people

Please note that the use of helmets is mandatory. Falls, across all agencies, are not unheard of. If you won’t wear the helmet, you can’t ride the horse. At least with us, most of the other agencies in town will be happy to take your money and let you do whatever you want. Be careful – its rocky and the nearest hospital is several hours away.
