Chincheros

Updated: Jul 6

Chincheros is a small town on the main highway between Cusco and Ollantaytambo. It is known in part for its local crafts and produce market, held most days in the town’s main square, and also for the large amount of quality Inca constructions in the area.

Chincheros is about one hour drive from Cusco, and about an hour drive from Ollantaytambo as well. Located high on the altiplano at about 3800 meters above sea level, it is a classic Andean farming community comprised of fields of crops mixed with the classic brown adobe houses.

There is an entrance fee to the site, but it is also included in the general Boleto Turistico.
